A very quiet day...

I had a "case of the nerves" early this morning and when that happens, it changes the look of the whole day. The to-do list doesn't even get looked at...it's all about resting and recovering.

We've had many "days in the life of Pony and Petey" lately that have brought change and upheaval. The airline that Petey worked at for almost 15 years went bankrupt and closed their doors December 31st.

I think Petey put in about 8 hours a day just searching for and filling out applications online for nearly 2 months. Some of those applications were CAAA-RAZY! The one for Virgin Atlantic is especially memorable!

And then bam-bam-bam, things happened quickly. He had a phone interview with Sky Lease Cargo on January 12th and was hired. Then the paperwork came from them overnight and it was a very busy week getting all the documents and such filled out and notarized and then overnighted back to them.

On the 21st he started at-home indoctrination training via web-cam...that was interesting! Then on the 27th he flew to Miami to do ground school, sim training and his checkride. Because he was still current in the 747-400, he was able to do a shortened version of ground school. Oh yeah...he still gets to fly the same plane he flew for Evergreen!

Petey got home late February 14th...just in time to wish each other a Happy Valentine's Day = )  Then it was a time of waiting for him to be called back to finish up his training...something called IOE, which stands for initial operating experience. The FAA requires each pilot to fly with an instructor pilot for the first 25 hours in the airplane. And that's where Petey is now... just about half done with IOE.

At first we thought that he could just commute from here like he did with Evergreen. But as the days went by and he learned more about the company and the kinds of flights they do and their schedules, it's become apparent that we really do need to move to Miami.

So that's where my "case of nerves" comes in. I'm working very hard and trying my best to accept God's grace FOR THE MOMENT and not get ahead of God and His plans for us. The "what about this?" and "what will we do about THAT?" and the "how are we gonna make this work?" thoughts just circle around and around our heads until they become a hurricane and we just have to tell each other, "we're not there yet...let's not get ahead of ourselves... let's take it one step at a time".

I'm ever so grateful to have a relationship with Creator and Sustainer God who knows the number of hairs on my head at this very moment! He can certainly be trusted to work out all the details and my trying to figure everything out isn't going to help Him or ME, at all!

Please be praying for us...way more change and upheaval coming our way...if things play out how they look like they're gonna play out...
